Its core is made of re-vulcanized foam latex particles. An additional upper and lower layer of monolithic foam latex has been added.
The penolatex in EKON products has been tested and certified for the absence of harmful substances and chemicals in accordance with the German Oeko-Tex® Standard 100. It is certified as CLASS I – approved even for baby products.
Latex is a white milky liquid that consists of rubber particles emulsified in water. Due to its alkaline properties, it is anti-allergic and anti-mite. It is characterized by high elasticity and strength, which is why it finds wide application in various productions. The foam latex obtained from it, in combination with natural latex, is widely used for making bedding products (mattresses and pillows). A distinctive feature of foam latex is its open-cell structure. This determines its ability to "breathe," i.e., air can pass freely through it, thereby reducing sweating.
